Prestige Plants is looking for an experienced horticulturalist to lead our tree growing area.

Salary: $70-95k per annum

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • The success of the tree area
  • Leading the tree team

Supported by experienced leading hands, the Tree Area Supervisor manages a team of up to 12 enthusiastic growers.

What you’ll need

  • Full Australian working rights
  • Formal Horticultural qualification (min cert 3 preferred)
  • Ability to apply horticultural knowledge.
  • Excellent people management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Be  enthusiastic and possess an ability to inspire your team
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • An eye for detail
  • An ability to teach & train staff
  • Have a flexible hands-on approach in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Persistence and an ability to deliver

What you’ll do

Part of your day-to-day role will include the following.

  • Execute Prestige’s production plans for Tree
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure outstanding plant quality and adherence with AS2303
  • Supervise & improve irrigation & IPM programs
  • Managing & ordering of supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory.
  • Liaise with our sales team for contract grow order progress & general stock quality & availability, informing them of stock progress. Work with the sales team to ensure orders are planned for and fulfilled as efficiently as possible
  • Train and develop your team to ensure high productivity, high quality & consistency.
  • Ensuring your teams KPI’s are met

Prestige Plants is a large production nursery across 3 sites & 2 states, supplying the commercial landscaping market & large domestic projects. We grow and supply a comprehensive range of grasses, shrubs & trees from tubes through to 400L bags with over 700 different species.

The Tree Area Supervisor is based at Prestige Plants head office in Kinglake, the largest nursery in our group.
