Humphris Nursery is a large, progressive wholesale nursery based in Mooroolbark with a team of 120+ staff across four production sites located in the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and the Yarra Valley.

Established in the 1850’s and cared for by 6 generations of the Humphris family, we’ve modernised and evolved into the market leader that we are today, something we’re incredibly proud of.

Due to a current opening, we are seeking a Despatch Team Leader based at our Mooroolbark site.

Day to day responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure all stock is presented in line with business standards
  • Ensure all stock is free of pests & disease prior to despatch
  • Ensure all trolleys and stillages are wrapped & labelled accurately and in accordance with business practice
  • Ensure all stock is watered prior to despatch
  • Ensure all Picking and Packing paperwork is completed in full & forwarded in a timely manner
  • Ensure we are holding adequate stock levels of labels for current and upcoming potted stock
  • Ensure the wastage of plants is minimal and report all wastages to the Logistics Manager
  • Provide transport volume estimates to the Logistics Manager each morning
  • Ensure there is enough staff to cover daily Pick, Process, and Pack requirements based on the agreed Plants Per Person Per Hour (PPPH)
  • Accommodate late orders where possible
  • Provide coaching and training to all team members to meet business standards of product quality and work rate
  • Liaise daily with the Logistics Manager
  • Communicate with Sales on all matters relating to varieties, locations, quality, quantities, specific processing requirements and specific packing requirements
