Founded in 1998, Pearcedale Garden centre is known for providing excellent service & supplying quality plants to the public, industry trades & wholesale sectors along the South East.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking a candidate for a casual role that will:
- Provide excellent customer service
- Proactively engage with customers
- Assist customers with general plant/product knowledge
- Answer customer queries
- Weekend availability is essential.
Whilst experience in a retail nursery environment is highly regarded and extensive plant knowledge is beneficial, we value effective & friendly communication skills and a willingness to learn above all.
Key Responsibilities
- Confidently and efficiently serve customers
- Accurately record sales at checkout
- Proactively engage with customers
- Assist customers with general plant/product knowledge
- Respond politely & promptly to customer queries via phone and take messages when required
- Communicate effectively with customers and other staff
- Advise customers on plants & plant care
- General plant maintenance and care
Qualifications
- Evidence of customer service experience, preferably in a related industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in operating checkout tills and POS systems
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn all things plants
