Founded in 1998, Pearcedale Garden centre is known for providing excellent service & supplying quality plants to the public, industry trades & wholesale sectors along the South East.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a candidate for a casual role that will:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Proactively engage with customers
  • Assist customers with general plant/product knowledge
  • Answer customer queries
  • Weekend availability is essential.

Whilst experience in a retail nursery environment is highly regarded and extensive plant knowledge is beneficial, we value effective & friendly communication skills and a willingness to learn above all.

Key Responsibilities

  • Confidently and efficiently serve customers
  • Accurately record sales at checkout
  • Proactively engage with customers
  • Assist customers with general plant/product knowledge
  • Respond politely & promptly to customer queries via phone and take messages when required
  • Communicate effectively with customers and other staff
  • Advise customers on plants & plant care
  • General plant maintenance and care

Qualifications

  • Evidence of customer service experience, preferably in a related industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in operating checkout tills and POS systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn all things plants
