Native Seeds Pty Ltd is a leader in the production of native grassland species, we are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate person to join our team to help us manage, develop and expand our native grassland seed production areas (SPAs).

Based in the Ovens Valley in NE Victoria this role will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all our grass species under production. Other responsibilities include trialling and developing production systems for new and existing species, designing and implementing annual management plans and budgets and participating in the Company’s forward planning discussions and decision making.

The role will be required to closely coordinate with our Wildflower Seed Production Supervisor and our Seed Processing & Dispatch Supervisor to allocate daily labour resources based on Company priorities.

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

  • Comparable experience in an agriculture and/or horticulture industry.
  • A keen eye for plant health and identification.
  • Manual drivers licence.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Chemical users certificate.
  • Experience working with tractors and farming equipment.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • A proven ability to work well within a team environment and autonomously.
  • Proficient computing skills.
  • An understanding and acceptance of the fluctuating annual workload of seasonal crops.

Reporting to the Managing Director/ Seed Production Manager this position will play a key role in helping to shape the future direction of our business.

Salary to be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
