Production nurseries

We are looking for a FULL TIME General Manager to help run and co-ordinate the day to day running of our vibrant busy nursery. This person would be overseeing all facets of our business, in a hands-on position, working with all staff. This will require horticultural knowledge, and experience, as well as leadership and communication skills.

The key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Co-ordinating logistical operations including Transport, Purchases, invoicing and accounts
  • Staff liaison and co-ordination
  • Dispatch scheduling and Quality Control
  • Potting scheduling
  • Irrigation management and maintenance
  • Propagation management including grafting
  • Stock control
  • Plant health control including Pest and Disease, and nutrition
  • Computer literacy
  • Workplace and staff safety.

Your Key skill requirements:

  • You must have experience in some sort of management/Leadership role
  • You must have excellent communication skills to be able to clearly express your expectations with all staff members
  • You must have a good level of physical strength and fitness as this is a HANDS ON position, in a fast paced environment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • You must have strong organizational skills, communication skills, leadership, and attention to detail.
  • And the ability to grow and expand our business.
  • You must have your own personal transport.

Other considerations include Agricultural Chemical users certification, Forklift licence, MR licence, Front end loader experience.

This is a salary position commensurate with skills.
