Production nurseries

We are looking for a nursery assistant to join us in our wholesale Proteaceae production nursery. The position will include caring for our field grown motherstock plants and other general nursery tasks. Proteaflora Nursery provides in depth on the job training in all areas of Protea production.

About us

Proteaflora Nursery is situated in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges. We are the top producer of Proteaceae in Australia and have partners around the world. We take great pride in the high quality plants that we produce and supply to retail outlets, our friendly welcoming team and our great working conditions.

  • Our nursery hours are 7 days, 7.30am to 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
  • Normal working week is 40 hours
  • We provide uniform, protective clothing and tools.
  • We have targeted on-the-job training and we may assist related external training opportunities.
  • We pay above award rates.

What we are looking for

You must have an interest in plants and the growing processes involved in producing top quality plants. A friendly, helpful and optimistic approach is essential. To fit in at Proteaflora, you are:

Required skills

  • Experience in agriculture or horticulture (preferred)
  • Physically fit and active
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather
  • Computer literate

Required Licences

  • Australian Motor Vehicle Licence

Qualifications

  • VCE or equivalent
  • Cert III or Diploma Horticulture (Preferred but not essential)
